We now have a type rating course available which will allow you to take your friends flying at a reduced rate without having one of our instructors on board.
Do you have flying experience, flight simulator time at home, a keen interest in simulation, or are you a flying instructor? Then this course may be just what you are looking for to add to your skills.
Course Objective
At the completion of the course you will be able to fly the simulator without the guidance of an instructor as the pilot in command. As a result you will be able to get a good discount off our normal flying rate.
Structure
The course comprises 5 structured lessons which are clearly documented in a type rating manual which you get to keep. You will fly all sessions in the left hand seat as pilot in command. The lessons begin with a cockpit orientation and then build your experience through four fliying sessions. The final session is a tour of the instructors panel so that you can operate from any of our vast selection of airports.
An additional flight of 60 minutes duration will also be a check ride to allow you to demonstrate that you can operate the simulator and instructor's panel to a reasonable standard. Once passing this check ride you will be presented with your wings.
The course will require study in your own time as well as comprehensive pre-flight briefings by our experienced instructors.
